Adam Schneider led the Swans Reserves to a 105-point over a gallant Tigers outfit, though the scoreboard did not reflect the standard of the game.

Although the final margin was extensive, Queanbeyan were competitive in a high quality game in windy conditions.

Schneider controlled the midfield and the leadership he showed throughout the game was outstanding. Ed Barlow also played well providing strong leads and marks across the half forward line.

Luke Brennan, who came from Hawthorn at the beginning of 2007 after a 19 game and 11 goal career, kicked six goals playing at half-forward in his best game since he became a Swan.

Kristin Thornton also made the Swans’ best along with Kieren Jack, the pair switching between the half-back line and playing on ball. Stephen Doyle was also effective in the ruck.

The Swans led by eight points at quarter time and by half time had extended the margin to 57 points after an eight-goal quarter where the goals were shared around the team.

Queanbeyan kept the Swans to four goals in the third quarter and kicked four themselves, but with a three goal last quarter from Brennan, two from Barlow and Heath Grundy along with Matt O’Dwyer and Jonathan Simpkin posting six pointers extended the margin its final 56 points to registered their tenth win of the AFL Canberra season.

The Swans Reserves are currently sitting on top of the ladder after Round 12 with 10 wins and two byes under their belt.

Not only are the Reserves undefeated but they are entering round thirteen with a percentage of 378.46.

The Swans round 13 game against second placed Belconnen is on Sunday 8 July at 9.50am as the curtain raiser for the Sydney and Fremantle at the SCG.
