But Roos said Hall, who suffered a groin strain in the final quarter after booting four goals in the Swans’ win against Hawthorn, would be given every chance to prove his fitness.
“I wouldn’t think he’d do much this week – he’ll probably run on Thursday,” he said.
“If he can’t run somewhat pain-free on Thursday, then you don’t risk him. But if he can get through Thursday, do some running, do some strides, then we’ll probably name him and take him up there and see how he goes.
“We’re still really hopeful that he’ll play this week, but it’s one-week off at worst. We certainly haven’t ruled him out.”
With Lions spearhead Jonathan Brown reported for rough conduct against Carlton last Sunday, it’s possible that both sides could be without their big key forwards at the Gabba.
But Roos said regardless of Brown’s presence, the Swans’ mental approach to the game would remain the same.
“He’s an important player, but what Michael [Voss] would be trying to do is what we try to do here – whether it be Hally or Leo Barry or Mick O’Loughlin that are out, you can’t structure your team around one person,” he said.
“I’m sure that Michael would be confident that Jonathan will play… but if he doesn’t, they’re [still] going to be very competitive.
“We’ll respect them regardless of whether they have four or five players out as Hawthorn did on Saturday night. Regardless of who you face in any given game, you always respect your opposition.”
Roos said midfielders Craig Bird and Jared Crouch, who both suffered knocks to the knee against the Hawks, had recovered well and were likely to travel to Brisbane, but they would be monitored throughout the week.
