GEELONG is set to confirm its new captain and leadership group for 2010 with a Skilled Stadium press conference called for Wednesday afternoon.

Former skipper Tom Harley announced his retirement from AFL football in October, having led the Cats to two premierships in just three seasons in the role.

As deputy, and the side's acting captain for nine of the 11 matches Harley missed through injury in 2009, Cameron Ling remains the frontrunner for the main job.

Last year's leadership group also included Gary Ablett, Jimmy Bartel, Corey Enright, Joel Selwood and Joel Corey.

Geelong's new structure will be known at 2.20pm AEDT.
