ESSENDON has delisted Anthony Long after an injury-plagued two years with the Bombers.

The nephew of Bombers legend Michael Long was drafted by the club with pick 33 at the 2009 NAB AFL Draft.

He battled hamstring problems for much of his tenure on the list, only playing a handful of games for VFL team Bendigo while never winning selection in a senior match for Essendon.

Originally from Northern Territory club St Marys, Long attended Melbourne Grammar and played in the TAC Cup with Calder Cannons.

Long is the last of Essendon's delistings before the second list lodgment later on Wednesday.

He joins Andrew Welsh, Darcy Daniher, Mark Williams and rookies Michael Quinn, Taite Silverlock, Tyson Slattery, James Webster and Jay Neagle as players to leave the Bombers since the end of the season.

Ruckman Josh Jenkins was traded to Adelaide at the recent trade week.
