KANGAROOS forward Aaron Edwards says he is relishing the challenge of resurrecting his fledgling career at Arden Street.
After a promising start with the West Coast Eagles, Edwards was delisted in 2005 and the 184cm full-forward returned home to Frankston last year.
Edwards earned his ticket back to the AFL with the Roos by kicking 100 VFL goals for Frankston last year and by winning the Liston Trophy as the VFL's best and fairest player.
Edwards, who kicked one goal in the Roos 16-point win over Geelong at Skilled Stadium this week, told 3AW he was grateful the Roos had deemed him fit for a second tilt at the AFL.
"It was a great year last year but after three years at West Coast I had to get back and play an exceptional year," he said. "I went back to Frankston and I had a good year."
The former Dandenong TAC Cup player said he found moving to Perth after his selection by West Coast in the 2002 AFL Draft a difficult transition.
"It's hard relocating, I found it hard especially early," he said. "It was three years there, I learned a lot over there, (it's a) great club and I brought it over here. It's probably got me to where I am today."
Now being moulded as a key position player at the Roos, Edwards said he was attempting to learn as much as possible from the club's veterans.
"I've learned a lot while I've been at the Kangaroos. It's only round five now and I've already learned a lot."
