Utility Dean Solomon will be unavailable for selection for round two and three after the AFL Tribunal upheld a rough conduct charge against him this afternoon.

Dean was charged with a level one rough conduct offence against Collingwood’s Shane Wakelin early in the third quarter of Fremantle’s Round One match against the Magpies at the MCG on Saturday.

The incident was referred to the Tribal by the Match Review Committee and was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level One offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He had an existing record of one match suspended within the last three years, which increased the penalty by 10 per cent to 137.50 points. He also had 95.31 points carried over from within the last 12 months, which increased the penalty to 232.81 points and a two-match sanction.
