COLLINGWOOD captain Scott Burns may have to wait another two weeks to play his 250th game, as he continues to struggle with a calf complaint.

Burns, 33, was set to reach the coveted milestone against the Blues on Sunday, but was a late withdrawal from the side after pulling up from Saturday training with a tender lower leg.

The club's website, collingwoodfc.com.au, has listed Burns as one to two weeks away from resuming, meaning he might not become the 11th player in the history of the club to reach 250 games until the Magpies' round seven clash with Hawthorn.

Burns became club captain at the start of this season following the retirement of Nathan Buckley. He played in the VFL in round one after a limited pre-season, but lined up for the side in rounds two and three.

In other Collingwood injury news, veteran defender Simon Prestigiacomo (foot) remains listed as an indefinite exclusion, while the length of Sean Rusling's shoulder-inspired layoff is still yet to be fully determined.
