DESPITE speculation that he has already received his marching orders, Darren Harris is still working hard and hopeful of remaining at West Coast.

The West Perth premiership captain (1995) and coach (2003) joined West Coast in 2006 as forwards coach and has enjoyed every minute of his three years, but is only worrying about what he can control right now.

"All I can control is how hard I'm working at the moment with the players and supporting John (Worsfold), and that's what I'm doing," Harris said.

"I know exactly where I stand and I'm sure I'll find out where my future lies in the next few weeks. The situation is that we are looking at a restructure at the moment and where we all sit will depend on what comes from that."

Even though Michael Voss has already been appointed as assistant coach for next season Harris doesn’t feel any tension among the coaching group and believes they are still as close as they were when winning the 2006 premiership.

"We are pretty open and you have to look at 2006-07. A fair bit was going on here and we were still able to have success," he said.

"The key to that success was the tightness of the match committee and we remain that way.

"I've talked to John (Worsfold) about my strengths and where I see I can have influence on a footy club. I've presented that and it's a matter of how that fits into the structure," Harris said.

"I get to come to work with 44 blokes who are motivated and quality people. I came into this role with a two-year gig and I've been involved in a premiership, have had an influence at the footy and I'm happy that I've had three years. If it goes further than that I will be rapt."
