FREMANTLE has advised former first-round draft pick Ryley Dunn that his rookie contract will not be extended.

Dunn, who has played eight games for the club since his selection at No. 10 in the 2003 NAB AFL Draft, met with senior coach Mark Harvey and general manager of football operations Mark Harvey on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old was delisted at the end of last season after a run in round 22, but was offered a rookie contract in the hope he could rebound from the knee and hamstring injuries that had dogged his early career.

A persistent back complaint limited him to three games in 2008, with the first those against North Melbourne in round 12.

He lined up for the clashes with St Kilda and Essendon that followed.

A midfielder/half-back, Dunn joined Fremantle from the Murray Bushrangers through the draft pick earned for Trent Croad's return to Hawthorn.

Fremantle's growing list of departures this year also includes former captains Peter Bell and Shaun McManus, Jeff Farmer, Matthew Carr, Heath Black, Mark Johnson and Luke Webster.
