ANDREW Krakouer's manager Peter Jess believes his player deserves more money from the proceeds generated from his Hungry Jack's Mark of the Year in round nine.

The Herald Sun reports Jess "is campaigning for image rights to be part of a standard player contract".

It says Krakouer, who played his first season at Collingwood this year after a stint in prison, will receive 11 per cent of the gross proceeds of a limited-edition piece of memorabilia that features his mark.

One piece of limited edition signed Krakouer Mark of the Year memorabilia is selling for $495, which has the potential to earn $49,500 of which Krakouer would receive just $5,445.

The Magpies would receive $24,750 while the remainder would go to the picture agency that supplied the photo and the AFL's memorabilia contractor.

Jess said: "He doesn't own the rights to the image. He just wants what is right and reasonable.

"Collingwood say they are just following guidelines. The AFLPA has said that's all well and good, but the club doesn't have to adhere to that, they could increase the take to the player.

"Any further encroachment by the AFL on image rights of players should be strongly resisted by players and agents."

After Krakouer was alerted to the fact he had won the Hungry Jack's Mark of the Year, he told Collingwood's website he was surprised to claim the prize.

It is reported the AFL is considering paying high-profile players from each club for image rights, but Jess says all players should receive the same treatment.
