Skipper Nick Maxwell and defender Heath Shaw return to the team after both players missed the last two weeks.
Fresh off signing a two-year contract extension, Maxwell returns to play his fourth game of the season after missing the last two weeks through suspension.
The skipper joins Shaw, who has recovered from a hamstring injury which kept him out of the side last week. Shaw has been plagued with hamstring problems this season after missing round one with tightness but trained strongly this week and will be a welcome return to the side.
Shannon Cox and Tyson Goldsack have been omitted.
In Thursday’s press conference, Mick Malthouse revealed 2006 All-Australian Alan Didak will miss the next few weeks with a hamstring injury after aggravating it at training earlier in the week.
North Melbourne will go into the contest without its skipper Brent Harvey, who dislocated his elbow in last week's 36-point loss to Richmond. Defender Lachlan Hansen will also miss with a hamstring injury sustained last week.
Midfielder Daniel Harris (139 AFL games) and veteran defender Shannon Watt (152 AFL games) come into the side.
