Geelong veteran Peter Riccardi will extend his 14-year association with the Cats after agreeing to a new contract. The 30-year old Riccardi has played 241 games with the Cats since making his senior debut against the West Coast Eagles in round four, 1992.

Riccardi has enjoyed a glittering career with Geelong. He won the best and fairest in 1998, has represented Victoria twice in state of origin contests and played in three grand finals.

Riccardi’s 253 goals place him 17th Geelong’s all-time goal kicking list. He kicked 25 goals in 20 games in 2003.

Riccardi began his career with the Cats under 19s in 1990, before graduating to the senior list. Over his AFL career Riccardi has gathered 2,877 kicks, taken 760 marks and dished out 1,319 handballs. He has converted on 56% of his goal attempts (253 goals, 199 behinds). Riccardi was married last weekend and is currently on his honeymoon.
