Leigh Tudor will move on from the Cats after four seasons as the club’s VFL coach. Tudor will take up a role as AFL assistant with St Kilda.

Tudor returned to Skilled Stadium in 2005 and guided the young Cats VFL unit to two grand finals, including the 2007 premiership. He produced an impressive 51 wins from 99 games as coach.

“We wish Leigh all the best in his new role. We see his new role at St Kilda as a promotion and we didn’t think it fair to stand in his way,” Geelong’s general manager of football operations Neil Balme said.

Tudor spent four seasons as a player at Geelong, appearing in 60 games and kicking 53 goals. He played in both the 1994 and 1995 AFL grand finals and his kick in the dying seconds of the 1994 preliminary final found Gary Ablett in the goal square for the match winning goal.

Tudor began his AFL career with North Melbourne. He also coached the Western Jets in the TAC Cup.
