Round Six in the Casey Cardinia Seniors produced some big wins, and some fantastic football.

Berwick managed to win their third game for the year, in a convincing display against Tooradin at Edwin Flack Reserve. Tooradin put up a good fight but in the end, proved unable to come away with the win as Berwick notched up a 33 point win.

First placed Beaconsfield continues its unbeaten run in Season 2010, kicking 18 goals to ROC’s 11, running away easy 46 winners, and staying a game clear on top of the ladder.

Tenth placed Doveton would have been happy with a handy 58 point win over Pakenham at Robinson Oval on Saturday, which was Doveton’s first win for season 2010.

In the Bendigo Bank Nepean Seniors, first placed Sorrento continues good form in 2010, remaining undefeated on top of the ladder, with a 62 point victory over Rosebud.

Crib Point notched up its second win for the year, defeating Hastings 128-116, in a fantastic display.

Second placed Somerville continue to put pressure on for the top spot, with a huge win over Pearcedale at Emil Madsen Reserve. Somerville kicked 22 goals for the match, and ran out 79 point victors.

Frankston YCW continue to walk the walk in the Peninsula competition, and this week was no different, with a 65 point win over the eighth placed Langwarrin.

Karingal put in another strong performance this week, continuing to get better and better each week, notching up a 90 point win over Pines at Ballam Park on Saturday.

Mornington unfortunately continue to search for their first win of the year, going down to a strong Seaford outfit by 120 points at Seaford Oval.

On the Demons’ front, it was a big task after a tough trip to Darwin, But the boys were ready for the challenge of playing Geelong at their home ground, Skilled Stadium.

Melbourne, deciding to rest gun youngsters Tom Scully and Jack Trengove, unveiled another young gem in Jordan Gysberts, who was absolutely amazing in his debut, even starting on Brownlow Medallist Gary Ablett at the first bounce.

Gysberts had 26 disposals to head the team’s ball winners, ahead of Brent Moloney (25) playing against his old team in his 100th career game and Aaron Davey (24), who has been in fantastic form this year.

There was a scare for the Cats in the third term when Melbourne booted consecutive goals to close to within 31 points, which was a good sign for our young side.  But unfortunately, Geelong, like all good teams, responded.

There were some good signs for the boys as we continued to fight the game out until the final siren, and the form of our young players - Bennell, Watts, and of course Jordie Gysberts - has been outstanding despite the loss to last year’s premiers.

Next week we are at the MCG against Carlton in what should be a big game for the boys and we will be looking to bounce back with a win!  So make sure you get along to the G on Saturday when we take on the Blues!

GO DEES!!!
