Cultural Diversity Week started on Monday 15 March and finishes with Harmony Day on Sunday 21 March.

To celebrate our diversity as a Club, Hawthorn staff enjoyed a lunch of cuisines from around the world. Staff were encouraged to make a dish that reflected their cultural background, make their favourite ethnic dish or try their hand at a new recipe from another country.

The result was cuisine from around the world and everyone enjoyed a smorgasbord of mouth watering international fare, including French beef bourguignon, Italian cannelloni, Sri Lankan curry, Vietnamese spring rolls, English shepherd’s pie and Australian lamingtons amongst many others.

We even had some of the players follow their noses upstairs and join in the festivities!

During Cultural Diversity Week, Victorians come together to share aspects of their culture, faith and language and celebrate the benefits multiculturalism brings to our state.

Through this interaction and exchange of ideas the Hawthorn Football Club endeavours to maintain our harmonious community and create a society built on understanding, acceptance and mutual respect.

The smorgasbord included cuisine from all across the globe.
