This week it's Richmond coach Terry Wallace.
The Tigers take on Freo at the MCG this afternoon, and need a win to keep their flickering finals hopes alive, but Wallace warned that Fremantle's ladder position could be misleading.
"They've been in very good form without being in winning form, probably until the weekend," Wallace said. "We were the same two weeks ago, so we don't look at one game and go: "they didn't play as well as they would have liked, so therefore they might be on a downer.
"We were there two weeks ago against Adelaide, and came back and beat Hawthorn, that happens in the nature of the game, so we show them respect.
"Their contested footy game has improved and their clearance footy game has improved immeasurably in the second half of the year, which makes them a more dangerous item than what they perhaps were in the first half of the year.
"So we don't take them lightly."
Wallace said the chance to influence the final eight would be driving Freo.
"When you're in a situation where you're lower down the ladder – we were in the same position last year and knocked off a couple of sides late in the year – you've almost got that nothing to lose attitude and approach about yourself, and you g out and play with a bit of freedom.
"You don't tighten up, because there's nothing to tighten up for.
"The clear message they'll be trying to get across is to knock us over and knock out any chance that we have.
"But we've got a fair bit to play for ourselves."
