The LeasePlan Western Bulldogs are excited to announce the Club’s third scholarship signing, taking on 15 year old Daniel Lloyd under the AFL’s initiative to development talent from the New South Wales area.
Daniel plays for the Killarney Vale Football Club in Berkeley Vale on the central coast of NSW.
Similar to the Bulldogs first scholarship recipient, Braedon Jones, Daniel is also a member of the Northern Heat development squad, a display of the Bulldogs strong relationship with the area, and commitment to developing talent from the Central Coast area of NSW.
Standing at 178cm and 65kg, Daniel also competed in the AFL NSW zone state trials, with Western Bulldogs Recruiting Manager Scott Clayton describing him as a goal kicking forward.
“We have been impressed with his football brain. He is very good on both his left and right foot and he has a clean pair of hands. I look forward to getting Daniel within our system and developing him into an AFL player,” said Clayton.
AFL Talent & Coach Development Manager of NSW/ ACT, Darren Denneman, reinforced Clayton’s positive assessment of Daniel, saying he was very impressive during NSW Under15/16 state zone trials.
“Daniel is a very mature young man who was impressive at the Riverview Camp and as a result is now a member of the Under 15s state development squad,” said Denneman.
