SYDNEY Swans’ coach Paul Roos has said the club will not take the “holier than though” approach when it comes to considering players who are up for trade from their club for disciplinary issues, or who have had disciplinary issues in the past.

Speculation regarding the possible trade of Alan Didak, after his suspension by Collingwood, as well as West Coast refusing to rule out the trade of star midfielder Daniel Kerr, means there could be several high profile players up for grabs during the trade period.

“We’ve obviously had guys who have had their share of troubles here so I don’t think we’d be taking that holier than though approach,” Roos said.

“I don’t know Daniel (Kerr) or Alan Didak or Heath Shaw or any other of these other guys. If anyone from another club regardless of who they are, whether it’s Daniel or anyone else wants to come here, you sit down and talk to them and find out what their motivation is.

"Then you decide if you want to go forward. We’ll do the same with any of the players that we look at.”

As for Swans players who could find themselves up for discussion during trade week, Roos remained tight lipped.

“We haven’t really talked about it yet. That’s a discussion for after the season. We’ll re-evaluate then. Everyone’s saying that the Swans need to rebuild and that we’re old and slow but we’ll evaluate that at the end of the season.”
