Sherman’s manager Liam Pickering told Trade Week Radio on afl.com.au on Sunday that an in-principle agreement had been reached between the two clubs, and the deal was confirmed on Monday morning.
In exchange for the hard-running midfielder, the Lions will get the end-of-first-round compensation pick the Bulldogs received for the loss of Jarrod Harbrow to the Gold Coast.
"It hasn’t been done officially, but we’re going to meet tomorrow morning ... and we’ll get the paperwork lodged. We’ve got an in-principle agreement," Pickering said on Sunday.
Earlier in the week, talks between the Lions and the Bulldogs had been at a stalemate, with the Lions receiving a better offer - pick 21 - from the Sydney Swans.But, with Sherman declaring he would only move to the Bulldogs, the Lions have now agreed to the trade.
"He’s happy," Pickering said of Sherman.
"Obviously it’s gone on for a week, but in the end he really wanted to get to the Dogs and it’s good that we’ve got an agreement."
