Swan, who was the clear favourite before the night commenced, only managed to poll the maximum three votes in two matches this year to eventually finish six votes behind winner Chris Judd.

The competition's leader in disposals did not feature in four matches where he had 30 possessions or more including a 35-disposal, five mark and five tackle performance in the 10-point win over the Western Bulldogs in round 11.

Teammate Scott Pendlebury finished equal fourth thanks to a blistering final month of the season where he polled 11 votes in four matches.

Pendlebury is a proven vote getter having polled 13 votes in 2009, seven in 2008 and one in 2007.

The vice-captain was deemed best on ground by the umpires in five matches, tied for the second most behind Judd (eight).

Alan Didak backed up last year's 12 vote performance by polling 11 votes from five contests.  The 28-year-old polled in five matches including two three-vote displays.

As a club, Collingwood polled a total of 89 votes, the second highest behind Geelong (104).
