About Down Syndrome Victoria
DSV’s Education Support Service provides support to children with Down syndrome attending mainstream primary and secondary schools.
The educational consultant works in partnership with teachers and support staff developing appropriate individualised education plans, providing assistance with curriculum modification, identifying and providing additional resources and tools, promoting positive behaviour strategies.
They are dedicated to addressing each child’s educational and social needs.
This vital state-wide service receives no government funding and is entirely reliant on donations and fundraising for its existence.
The race day at Moonee Valley is an important part of DSV’s commitment to providing this key service to ensure children with Down syndrome receive an appropriate education and reach their full potential.
