With Brad Scott threatening to wield the axe after North's disappointing loss to Richmond on Sunday, kangaroos.com.au takes a look at the Tigers' aligned players vying for an opportunity after their loss to North Ballarat.

Ben Speight had 27 possessions, a goal and six uncontested marks to go along with 3 tackles and 4 one per centers. His space and ability to run and carry could be just what the Kangaroos need against Port Adelaide.

Cam Pedersen collected 22 disposals, 9 marks and 9 one per centers. After an impressive debut against the Eagles in round one, his big body and competitiveness will put him right up there in calculations to come into the senior side.

Jamie Macmillan's poise and decision making in the backline is what makes him a tantalising young prospect. Matching up on Aaron Edwards on Saturday night, Macmillan had 18 touches and 10 marks.

Coming back from injury is difficult but Ben Ross has acquitted himself extremely well. Showing no signs of the groin injury that crippled him throughout 2010 and this preseason, the agile midfielder notched up 18 disposals, 5 tackles and 6 one percenters.

Some say x-factor is what North Melbourne needs and Kieran Harper might be the man to bring it. Highly rated, he had 17 touches against the Roosters and 5 tackles.

Always the first to put his head over the ball, Matthew Scott is doing everything he can to earn a future elevation. The rookie racked up 17 possessions, 6 tackles and 6 one percenters.

Ben Warren's work rate is perhaps his biggest asset and he ran all over Avalon Oval collecting 17 touches, 6 marks and 2 goals.

With the spotlight thrust upon him, Majak Daw had a quieter game than in previous weeks but at times, he threatened to blow the game apart. Playing in the ruck and also up forward, he had 12 disposals, 28 hitouts and a goal.

Unlucky to have been dropped after his debut for North against former side West Coast, Ben McKinley played well in patches but couldn't repeat his five-goal effort of the previous week. The medium-sized forward recorded 11 possessions and a goal.

Back after injuring his ankle in February, there was much anticipation about Levi Greenwood's comeback. Unfortunately it didn't go to plan with the gritty midfielder re-injuring his left lower leg early in the final term. He finished with 10 touches and 3 marks however early medical reports are that his injury is not as bad as first thought. His scans were reportedly clear and he was able to run again on Monday.

Gavin Urquhart's night was also cut short after he succumbed to hamstring tightness.

kangaroos.com.au will detail all North Ballarat's performers as soon as statistics are made available.
