West Coast Eagles captain Chris Judd launched the Medibank Private 1Seven Curriculum schools program yesterday at Deanmore Primary School, along with premiership player Rowan Jones and gun midfielder Matt Rosa.
Joined by Warrior and Orioles players, Judd visited the school to help communicate the important 1Seven message, “Move More, Eat Well” to the students, highlighting the benefits of an active lifestyle and healthy diet.
The students were taken through a number of practical physical activities to help develop key movement and motor skills before the school was presented with an 1Seven sports kit.
The Medibank Private 1Seven program is a joint initiative of Australia’s leading sports (Netball Australia, Cricket Australia and the Australian Football League) which aims to improve and support the health and wellbeing of Australia’s children by promoting healthy behaviour that will lead to reduced rates of overweight and obese children.
The program endeavours to create strong community awareness and links to existing introductory sports programs offered by the three sports, with the aim to establish sporting habits and healthy lifestyle values for children to keep them active throughout their lives.
Deanmore Primary School received this opportunity by being one of over 600 schools to have registered in the 1Seven program. To register you school in this outstanding initiative or learn more about what the 1Seven program offers, please visit www.1seven.com.au.
