Avid Saints fan and member of popular children’s programme Hi-5, Stevie Nicholson, today visited the St Kilda Football Club’s home at the Linen House Centre in Frankston.

Taking time out of his busy schedule in Sydney to visit his family in Melbourne, Stevie was keen to check out where his favourite team and his favourite player, Lenny Hayes, train.

“Who doesn’t love Lenny? I’ve definitely jumped on the Lenny bandwagon and have a lot of man love for Lenny.”

He, along with his younger sister Elise, were taken on a guided tour of the state-of-the-art training facility and introduced to senior coach Scott Watters.

“The facilities are unreal. It’s nice to know that your team has world-class facilities and are giving ourselves the best chance for success.”

When presented with a signed 2011 St Kilda Guernsey he was overjoyed and instantly stated that it would be framed and hung up in his apartment.

“I’ve been a Saints fan all my life. My mum and my grandparents as well. Some of my earliest childhood memories are of heading out to watch the Saints play. I love it.”

As well as a guided tour, Stevie took the time to sign some Saints merchandise for staff members’ children, nieces and nephews, and brought along some presents for them too.

He promised that the next time the whole group was in town they would organise another meeting, after saying that he has converted the Sydney based group to Saints supporters.

“The other Hi-5 members are definitely on board. I’ve been able to convert them and we’ve had a lot of joy watching the games.”

Stevie was especially excited to meet Scott Watters and wish him all the best for the 2012 season.
