St Kilda 1992-97 125 games 0 goals. (b: 6 Dec 1967 194 cms 106 kgs). He was an extremely late selection at No.92 in the 1990 national draft but he would prove to give great value at St Kilda. The former Hobart player was regarded as a forward/ruckman and had played with Fitzroy reserves. He spent two full seasons in St Kilda's reserves before making his senior debut at the age of 24. After that he became a stalwart defender for the Saints and he was renowned for his tremendous strength and ability to contain the best forwards in the game. Not a prolific kick-winner he was able to use his long arms to negate the bigger spearheads and became one of the best full-backs in the game. A nightmare 1997 Grand Final was thought to have cast him out of favor with some at St Kilda but he was not equipped to handle Darren Jarman who did all the damage. When he sought a long-term contract St Kilda refused to agree and he was lost to the club. Melbourne eagerly snapped him up. He represented Tasmania and the Allies in six State of Origin games.
