Eddie will be joined by a number of other AFL Indigenous players along with Olympic Gold Medallist, and of course Carlton supporter, Cathy Freeman at the exhibition on Saturday.
The exhibition aims to honour and acknowledge the presence and achievements of Indigenous athletes playing in the AFL today as well as supporting local Indigenous charities. One Indigenous player from each AFL team has donated a pair of their playing boots and these have been painted by an Indigenous artist.
The exhibition will commence at Federation Square on Saturday as part of the Long Walk. All the boots will then be on display at the National Sports Museum at the MCG before going on a national road tour to all States. The boots will return to Federation Square as part of the Grand Final week activities.
In September each pair of boots will be individually auctioned with funds raised to be donated to the AFL Foundation’s Indigenous programs.
Don’t miss your chance to see Eddie and have your photograph taken with him and his boots at Federation Square on Saturday.
