Due to the importance of MELBOURNEfc's finals campaign preparation, the coaches report will not be issued this week. We have transcribed segments from Neale Daniher's post match press conference from AAMI stadium yesterday.

The Result
“Obviously a disappointing result for us, but things can change around in footy in a week and we need to change it around at the MCG, Adelaide rebounded quickly today and we've got to rebound and we will next week.".
"We knew they would be really fired up after all the focus, especially losing to Port last week and we sort of knew what was coming. We just had to match that and we weren't able to do that today. And that was really disappointing to what reward we had, to go to the top four."
"But the opportunity is gone. That's what footy is about. You can sit around and sulk about opportunity lost, but we've just got to very quickly regroup. Things can happen pretty quickly in footy."

INJURIES
Neale said that Ben Holland (corked thigh), Byron Pickett (hamstring) and Matthew Whelan (hamstring) would strengthen Melbourne's chances of winning their first final.
"They'll help us structurally and allow (Brad) Miller to play at centre half forward," We'll get a better structure in place to take on whoever we play next week, the Saints or Collingwood."

GETTING THE TEAM UP AFTER A LOSS
"This time of year you are not going to get any fitter, our challenge is to get back to the MCG where we play our best footy. Things can happen quickly in footy. West Coast rebounded quickly and Adelaide rebounded quickly today and we have got to rebound and we will next week. We just haven't been able to bring our A-grade game to AAMI Stadium. We just gave up too many easy goals.

"Any time we really put any challenge on the Crows scoreboard-wise, we'd find another way to give up goals, whether it was a free kick or a 50-metre penalty. We were always able to give the Crows momentum in the game. Our ability to defend and our ability to move the ball from our back half was really poor."

MCLEAN REPORT
"I look forward to having a look at it. The quick look I had, did he make any contact with his head? So I don't know what the report is for. Do you get reported for pushing a bloke in the back?"

CLINT BARTRAM
"We'll find someone to come in and take his place, it's as simple as that, Bad luck for Clint, he's been good for us, but we've got plenty of blokes who we will be looking at to fill his spot."
"We will get three players in - Holland, Pickett, and Whelan, which will help us.”
