“During my time at the Melbourne Storm, I never engaged in any fraudulent behavior. I welcome any ensuing investigations and will cooperate fully with the NRL and auditors as I have absolutely nothing to hide.
“I strongly object to being branded a whistleblower as the only contact I have had with the NRL has been at its instigation. I have not acted unlawfully and am willing to assist in any way necessary.
“I have sought legal advice and am deeply concerned about the nature of some reports currently being circulated about me.”
North chief executive Eugene Arocca said Vale has the club’s full support.
“Cam is a man of great integrity and his work at North Melbourne is of the highest order and we will continue to support him.”
The North Melbourne Football Club is not in a position to make any further comment at this time.
