Essendon forward Stewart Crameri is excited about working in tandem with key forward Michael Hurley this season.

Crameri said he was looking forward to lining up next to Hurley in 2012 after the pair combined for seven goals in the Bombers 56 point win over Brisbane in the NAB Cup on Saturday.

“We know each other’s game patterns and I think if we can work well together this season we can do big things,” Crameri said.

“Hurls kicked a few goals which was good even though he got knocked around the head a few times.”

“I enjoy working together with him and I am sure he finds the same thing.”

Essendon coach James Hird said Hurleyreceived some important game time in Saturday’s win.

"I just thought that his intensity at the ball and his ability, if he didn't win the contest, he didn't lose it [either],” Hird said.

“He was able to have eight or nine shots at goal and as a forward you need some confidence like that."

Crameri said he was looking forward to the start of the home and away season on March 31 against North Melbourne.
