In his tenth year of service, Collingwood president Eddie McGuire will be a permanent fixture in the Lexus Centre when his portrait is hung in the following weeks.

At the request of the Magpies, McGuire sat for world-renowned Melbourne artist Lewis Miller.

The 1998 Archibald Prize winner had the club president sit for nine sessions before the piece was completed.

McGuire joins head coach Michael Malthouse, past president Ranald McDonald and former player Damian Monkhorst as Collingwood people who have had their portrait painted by Miller.

It is not yet known where the painting will hang but murmurs suggest the entrance of the building, a fitting position for one of the biggest names at the club.
