WEST Coast looks set to regain experienced duo Brett Jones and David Wirrpanda for Sunday's clash with Richmond.

However, star onballer Daniel Kerr is still in doubt with what coach John Worsfold described as "footballer's knee".

Worsfold, speaking at his weekly press conference on Wednesday, said the potential inclusions would stop his side going into matches "too young" as has been the case throughout 2008.

"Hopefully we will get a couple of players back from injury, but that'll be determined more tonight," Worsfold said.

"Certainly with a couple of senior players coming back, we will avoid the situation of going into games with maybe too young a side, which has been forced on us a few times this year."

Since gathering 40 disposals against Hawthorn nearly a fortnight ago, Kerr has battled knee troubles, a virus and a stingray attack.

Worsfold said he would consult his chief midfielder this afternoon but was confident Kerr had benefited from the time off provided by the split round.

"I've really got to talk to Daniel this arvo and see how he is, there seems to be a lot of doubt on him," Worsfold said. "He had a virus the other day, so I just want to see how he is overall.

"He's had a few issues, obviously the stingray incident has held him back a fair bit, but they may have been good for his knee. His fitness is pretty good so it's been a good break for him."

However, it wasn't all good news for West Coast on the injury front with Worsfold saying Shannon Hurn (leg) and Matt Rosa (ankle) would struggle to play AFL football again this season.

Hurn was set to play in the WAFL this week but suffered a setback at last Friday's training session, receiving a kick to the fracture that has sidelined him since round six.

"The aim for Shannon at the moment is to get himself back and available to play footy," Worsfold said. "Any decision about whether he plays or not will be made at that time."

West Coast's opponent this week has some injury concerns of its own with Richmond coach Terry Wallace yesterday saying Mathew Richardson was not over the line to play.

The Tigers spearhead has been battling a knee injury, and is now in doubt with hamstring trouble. But Worsfold said he would not only be prepared for Richardson to take his place in the side, but also for the multiple roles he may play.

"We'll look at it as though he's going to play, but we'll always have in the back of the mind that he may not and see what options we think they'll use if he doesn't," Worsfold said.

"You look at the different roles he's played and weigh all those things up, for sure."
