Club captain Matthew Pavlich and young gun Rhys Palmer were honoured at last night’s Carlton Mid Media Guild awards held in the Polly Farmer Room at Subiaco Oval.

Pavlich, who last month won a record fifth Doig Medal, won the Rick Hart Fremantle Player of the Year Award.

Pavlich also won the guild’s major football award, the WA Newspapers AFL Player of the Year Award.

Palmer, who capped a stellar debut season by winning the NAB AFL Rising Star Award and being named the AFL Players’ Association Best First Year Player, last night won the guild’s AFL Emerging Player of The Year Award.
