Player Development Coach Steve Malaxos reviews the performances of Fremantle players who played in the WAFL at the weekend.
Ryley Dunn (East Fremantle) Possessions: 7 kicks, 7 handpasses, 2 marks.
Malaxos says: Ryley didn’t have a lot of possessions but was influential in giving off effective goal assists.
Garrick Ibbotson (East Fremantle) Possessions: 7 kicks, 12 handpasses, 5 marks.
Malaxos says: Garrick had quite a good game on the wing and half forward. He picked up 19 possessions and used the ball very well.
Brock O’Brien (Peel) Possessions: 12 kicks, 4 handpass, 7 marks.
Malaxos says: Brock had a good return to form. He had a good game in defence taking 10 marks and chopped off many Perth attacks forward.
Luke Webster (East Perth) Possessions: 3 kicks, 4 handpass, 1 mark, 1 goal, 1 hit out.
Malaxos says: Luke was restricted after receiving a knock to his leg during the match.
Paul Duffield (South Fremantle) Statistics unavailable
Malaxos says: Paul played on the ball and West Perth watched him pretty closely. He was moved to half back later in the game and continued to play quite well.
Ryan Murphy (South Fremantle) Statistics unavailable
Malaxos says: Ryan was quiet to three quarter time and was then a very influential player in the last quarter to help South Fremantle run over the top of West Perth.
Andrew Browne (Claremont) Possessions: 16 kicks, 11 handpasses, 7 marks, 1 goal, 1 hit out.
Malaxos says: Andrew had a very good game for Claremont. He showed good courage at times and continues to show good form in the midfield for the Tigers.
Robbie Haddrill (Perth) Possessions: 5 kicks, 4 handpasses, 4 marks, 1 goal, 3 hit outs.
Malaxos says: Robbie had a steady game. He was on top of Buszan early and then went forward late in the game and lead well in attack.
Marcus Drum (Perth) Possessions: 14 kicks, 8 handpasses, 10 marks, 2 hit outs.
Malaxos says: Marcus had one of his better games for Perth on the wing and half forward. His stats show how good a game he had. He also laid five tackles in a good four quarter performance.
Chris Smith (Swan Districts) Possessions: 18 kicks, 4 handpasses, 10 marks, 1 goal.
Malaxos says: Chris probably played his best game in the WAFL. He was third best on ground for the Swans through the middle and in attack.
Adam Campbell (West Perth) Possessions: 10 kicks, 5 handpasses, 5 marks, 2 goals.
Malaxos says: Adam had a very strong first half in attack for the Falcons.
Benet Copping (East Perth Reserves)
Malaxos says: Benet had a steady game on the wing and on the ball.
Clayton Collard (South Fremantle Reserves)
Malaxos says: Clayton played on the ball and up forward. He was involved in some promising passages of play.
