Hawthorn's exciting draftee Beau Muston does not have to undergo a second knee re-construction and could be ready to begin playing as early as MayIn a huge boost to the Hawks, the number 22 draft pick underwent surgery on Thursday night but did not need another knee re-construction with surgeons instead able to replace the graft in his knee, which he had re-constructed earlier this year.Muston, who stands 189cm, was considered a potential top five pick in this year's national draft before suffering his knee injury and at pick 22 could turn out to be the bargain of this year's NAB draft when he regains full fitness.Hawthorn football operations manager Mark Evans said the surgery would give Muston "maximum stability and strength in his knee."“The graft and attachments were replaced to give him the maximum long-term playing career,” he told hawthornfc.com.au.Muston will participate in limited fitness training when the players return to training after the Christmas break on January 4 and will resume running by early February. The Hawks then expect him to progress into skills training by March, clearing the way for the exciting 18-year-old to begin his career in the VFL with Box Hill not long afterwards.Evans said the result of the surgery justified the Hawks' decision to select Muston at pick 22.“Muston was too talented a player to overlook in the recent draft and we are confident that once he has fully recovered he will an exciting and valuable player for many years at Hawthorn,” Evans said.
