Scott Thompson and Richard Douglas have extended their contracts with the Adelaide Football Club.

Crows football operations general manager Phil Harper said: “The Club is extremely pleased that Scott and Richard have re-committed to Adelaide, after both have show excellent form this season. They are quality young men who will form a key part of our midfield over the next few seasons.”

Thompson, 27, has played 135 games for Adelaide since 2005, when he moved to the Crows from Melbourne after playing 39 games in four seasons.

Douglas, 23, was Adelaide’s first selection at the 2005 national draft. He has played every game this season (20) for a career total of 76.

Today's annoucement caps a big 24 hours for Thompson, whose wife Ashleigh gave birth to a baby boy, Harry Scott, yesterday afternoon.

Harry, who weighed a healthy nine pounds, is the couple's second child with their daughter Ava born in 2007.
