In the build up to the 2008 Toyota AFL Grand Final, Toyota is bringing a cavalcade of AFL superstars and legends to communities across Victoria. Toyota Ambassadors Kevin Sheedy, Jonathan Brown and Matt Maguire, along with AFL stars Scott West, Brett Deledio, Mark Ricciuto, Adem Yze and Danny Frawley, will join Toyota Ambassador Brian Taylor at certain locations as he heads up the Toyota All Star Footy Tour around regional Victoria.
The Toyota All Star Footy Tour is an extension of Toyota’s Good for Footy Program, an initiative supporting local football clubs run by Toyota and its Dealers in Victoria, Southern NSW and Tasmania. The Tour highlights Toyota’s commitment to grassroots football, which plays a vital role in the lives of thousands of young people, families, schools and communities across the country.
Toyota Ambassador Jonathan Brown highlights the positive impact activities such as the Tour have on local communities.
“I grew up in Koroit, and played footy for South Warrnambool, so I understand first-hand the hardship grassroots clubs face without external support,” Jonathan said.
“I’ve been involved in the Toyota Good for Footy program since day one and Toyota’s support of grassroots footy is unrivalled. The Toyota All Star Footy Tour is a fantastic initiative and I can’t wait to be involved, particularly in my home town.”
The official replica Premiership Cup will accompany the stars on tour and allow regional footy fans to see the famous icon that will be awarded on Toyota AFL Grand Final Day.
From Monday September 8th to Wednesday September 10th, the Toyota All Stay Footy Tour visited twelve rural towns including Seymour, Echuca and Swan Hill. The Tour continues on Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th September, traveling to a further six locations.
