The Carlton Football Club welcomed their 2006 new recruits to Melbourne this week with a tour of two of the states landmarks, the MCG and the Rialto Observation Deck.

Mark Austin (Glenelg), Shaun Hampson (Mt Gravatt), Shaun Grigg (North Ballarat), Clinton Benjamin (Broome), Joe Anderson (Darwin), Ross Young (Northern Bullants), Sam Jacobs (Woodville-West Torrens) and Michael Jamison (North Ballarat) joined our number 1 pick Bryce Gibbs (Glenelg) on the Rialto observation deck and on the MCG.

Bryce told carltonfc.com.au on the observation deck ho he finds Melbourne, “It’s pretty crazy over here, Adelaide is a lot quieter, but I’m getting used to it, the Clubs been great in helping us settle in, and it’s nice to take some time out of training and visit some attractions like the Rialto and the G” Gibbs said.

Prior to the visit to the Rialto, the players toured the MCG.
Clinton Benjamin, who arrived in Melbourne from Broome was pinching himself in the middle of the MCG. “When we walked out into the middle it was just an amazing feeling, to think that in a few days time it will be full for the cricket, it’s a massive venue and I can’t wait to get the opportunity to play out there one day.” Benjamin said.

The tour of the MCG and Rialto was arranged by the Club as a large majority of the recruits were recruited from interstate. The visits allows the recruits to return home over the Christmas break with not only an insight of the Carlton Football Club but to Melbourne as well.
