This Sunday’s Balfours Showdown will be preceded by a ‘legends’ game featuring some past greats of the Adelaide and Port Adelaide Football Clubs.
Organised by Russell Ebert, Peter Marker and Barrie Robran, football ‘legends’ such as Graham Cornes, Rod Jameson, Troy Bond, Greg Anderson and Darren Mead will take to the field along with more than 20 sponsors of the Sports Challenge Foundation for Novita.
The match - which will kick off at 2.40pm on Sunday and be umpired by Rick Kinnear - will raise funds for special projects to assist children and families at Novita, as will a Saturday night football dinner at AAMI Stadium’s Magarey Room. Supported by the SANFL, tickets for the dinner are available from Novita on 8243 8225.
The Sports Challenge Foundation for Novita has raised in excess of $2 million since 1991 to purchase special equipment for children supported by Novita.
Port Adelaide supports the Sports Challenge Foundation for Novita through the club’s ‘Power of Dreams’ charity arm. The Power has also scheduled the Showdown coaches’ media conference at Novita this Friday, to help promote the cause.
