Speaking at the Junction Oval on Tuesday, Bailey said Blease's incident, which occurred when a school mate laid a tackle on him while playing kick-to-kick, was simply an accident.
"It just happened to be at school, that's all," Bailey said of Blease, who attends Yarra Valley Anglican School. “He's got the foot up and in the next couple of days he has surgery.
"He's spending a lot of time on the computer and a lot of time on Facebook, but the other side of it is that he's in his VCE year, so hopefully he can concentrate on getting his VCE done.
"It's not the [ideal] way to do it … but the club will work with him to get him back for the pre-season and hopefully next year we'll see Sam playing."
Meanwhile, Bailey is comfortable with No.1 draftee Jack Watts playing football for his school this weekend.
"It's fair and reasonable he gets to play a game [for Brighton Grammar School]," he said.
"I don't think there will be too many issues with it.
Bailey said he was impressed with Watts' first senior match for Casey Scorpions last round, after he booted three goals against Coburg Tigers.
"Jack was good [after] playing two reserves games. The ability to play two games against men and his third game was good. I think he gained more confidence from last week, so he's moving ahead," he said.
"His schooling is still very important and we've just got to keep that in mind."
