A GROUP of 10,000 football supporters will have the opportunity to take part in a once-in-a-lifetime pre-match experience on the MCG before the Hall of Fame Tribute match.

As part of the Australian Football 150 years celebrations, the AFL is teaming with the Herald Sun to provide an exclusive on-field experience and historical pictorial feature to celebrate the 150th birthday of Australian Football.

Before the match between Victoria, presented by Toyota, and the Dream Team, presented by Carlton Draught, 10,000 supporters will step onto the hallowed turf of the MCG to form a giant 150 – an initiative similar to the Field of Women concept.

All participants will receive a souvenir edition of the Herald Sun, a special Australian Football 150 Years poncho and a glow-stick to use during the on-field experience. All participants will also receive a special offer to purchase a commemorative photograph of the event.

AFL Chief Commercial and Broadcasting Officer Gillon McLachlan said the experience would provide a memorable image for a game that celebrates 150 years of Australian Football.

“I want to thank the Herald Sun for their support which – along with our match partners Toyota and Carlton Draught – is helping to ensure that this will be one of the great football nights in the history of the game,” he said.

The pre-match experience is free and supporters can opt to take part when they purchase their tickets to the Hall of Fame Tribute match from Ticketmaster.

The offer to take part is open to the first 10,000 people to order tickets either online or via the Ticketmaster phone booking service on 1300 136 122.
