MELBOURNE forward Austin Wonaeamirri will undergo scans on Monday, after he suffered a shoulder injury playing for Casey against Werribee at Chirnside Park on Saturday.

Second-year Demon James Strauss also sustained a medial strain during the first quarter of Casey’s 41-point win.

The injury to Wonaeamirri continues a frustrating run, after the Northern Territorian did not play a match in 2009 due to hamstring and knee problems.

He has again battled hamstring issues this year and has played just two matches in rounds nine and 10.

Strauss, who also had ankle and shoulder injuries last year, made his AFL debut this season, playing in the opening two rounds.

The club will have a clearer picture on the duo’s injuries on Tuesday.
