West Coast supporters kicked off the club’s first Melbourne game in style on Sunday, with over 250 passionate fans attending the Beyond the Border Supporters’ Function.

The function was the first chance for interstate fans to celebrate the club’s 25th year in the AFL, while watching West Coast take on fierce rivals Essendon.

Hosted by the Herald Suns’ Jay Clark, guests were given exclusive insight into the Bombers clash, with general manager of football operations, Neale Daniher, joining fans for a pre-game interview.

Guests enjoyed pizza, pasta and canapés, while participating in competitions and a raffle which saw the lucky winner score a 2011 team signed guernsey.

After watching the Eagles dominate the start of the match, guests returned at half-time to hear West Coast rookie Ashton Hams reveal who was the biggest prankster at the club.

Despite watching West Coast go down in a fighting finish, a strong showing of West Coast fans showed their support at the club’s post-match function, joined by players and coaches.

Coach John Worsfold and defender Shannon Hurn addressed the crowd and paid tribute to the loyalty of their interstate fans.

The West Coast Eagles would like to thank all our devoted supporters who attended the event.
