GEELONG has confirmed that premiership forward Nathan Ablett joined an indoor training session at Skilled Stadium on Monday night, seven months after walking away from the club.
Ablett, 22, told the Cats he needed a "break" from football in December last year, before announcing his decision to step away from AFL football altogether for the duration of this season in January.
The talented Cat completed his first official workout on Monday with the supplementary list, and is contemplating a return to the VFL.
Club operations manager Neil Balme said while there is "no hope" of Ablett playing senior football this year, he is likely to turn out in the seconds – possibly within the next month.
"Yes, he turned up and he was happy to be there. He's keen to play in the VFL but he won't play till he's fit and that could be three to four weeks," Balme told the Herald Sun.
"We hope he gets back to playing and enjoys himself, and goes forward from there. We'll see if that rekindles his desire."
