Assistant coach Blake Carcella was proud of the teams ability to maintain a gameplan in the 31-point win against Adelaide.
Speaking on The Final Siren, Caracalla believed the second quarter was dominated by the Crows due to their ability to win the stoppages and utilise the strong wind.
"They started to win the stoppages and probably kicked four of the first five goals," Caracella said.
"And unfortunately in the second quarter there was a two goal wind going left of screen and they kicked eight of the next nine goals.
"It wasn't a great way to finish the half although Swanny (Dane Swan) kicked two goals late in the second quarter and after halftime we came out all guns firing."
The former midfielder who played for Essendon, Brisbane and Collingwood, said it was a mix of youth and leadership that helped keep the mindset on track.
"Especially young players who are coming into the side and playing finals for the first time, the tension in the game tend(s) to go up quite a bit.
"To the senior player's credit, a bit of leadership out there too, probably halftime came at a really good time for us as well.
"Back in the rooms at halftime, settle the troops, go back out and keep the game plan to the forefront of the players' heads. And they went out and executed it well."
Collingwood take on St Kilda on Saturday night at the MCG with the winner advancing on the play Hawthorn.
