The Kangaroos Network of Women (KNOW) presentsKNOWing Footy:
Thursday 19 April at Arden Street
6.30pm – 9.00 pm
By popular demand, KNOW is once again running this event, unique to the football calendar.
KNOWing Footy is for those of us who love the game, but haven’t played Australian Rules Football. The workshop is about the strategy behind footy, the techniques the players use on the field, and the rules of the game.
“Many of us go along each week to cheer on our team, but if we haven’t played the game we don’t always understand what’s behind the moves on the oval,” said Justine McSweeney from the KNOW.
“KNOWing Footy aims to provide footy fans with a better understanding of why the players do what they do and what’s behind the game plan.”
“KNOWing Footy is a fun workshop on our favourite game,” Justine said. “People coming along can expect to do more than sit in an audience, we’ll have a chance to throw the footy around as well, although nothing too strenuous.”
The KNOW have coopted the services of some of the Kangaroos players and coaching staff to present at the workshop, with support from the AFL and Football Victoria.
Cost is just $15 for KNOW members, $20 for members of any AFL club, men and women. Please present your membership card for the discount rate. $25 for non-members, pay on the night.
Footy food will be provided, with tea/coffee and soft drinks.
“Auskick for big kids? Who knows, but it should be a lot of fun and we are encouraging footy fans of all clubs to be there,” said Justine Mc Sweeney.
