Hi Ash. With it looking unlikely that we’re going to make the eight, does the game plan change at all? Do you try different things?
Brad at Wynnum (QLD)

No, I don’t think our game plan will change. We really just need to keep working at it and challenge ourselves to execute it like we were at the start of the season.

Even though we’re struggling a bit at the moment, it’s still really important for us to finish the season off well.

G'Day Ash. I have noticed that at the end of recent games that some Lions players are seen having a laugh and a joke with players from the opposing team. I understand people have mates on other teams and no one would like losing, but from a fans perspective I would rather see the Lions run off in a pack head held high, rather then having a laugh with people who just beat us. What do you think?
Brad from Seven Hills (QLD)

After games when we shake our opponents' hand, we sometimes catch up with some of the players for other clubs we know pretty well. It's just part of what goes on after a game.

One thing I can assure you is that the players hurt more than anyone after losses. The mood down in the rooms last week in Tassie was particularly bad and there were certainly no smiles on the players’ faces.

Hey Ash. The only teams we seem to ever see up here in the Northern Territory are Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs. I was wondering if you guys might ever get the chance to come up to the NT to play.
Jack from Woodroffe (NT)

I’m not sure Jack, all the scheduling is done by the AFL.

If we did get the chance, I bet Jared Brennan and Xavier Clarke would be excited considering they were both originally drafted from NT.

Ash, mine is more a statement than a question. I just wanted to say our eight year-old grandson who plays Under 9s for Palm Beach on the Gold Coast was so excited after his game last week that he announced to the coach that he “had the bestest day. He kicked a goal and got a blood nose!” Keep up the good work and I hope you have the ‘bestest’ day in your next game.
Pat from Clifton Beach (QLD)

Thanks Pat, it’s good to hear your grandson is enjoying his footy.

Hi Ash. Can you please tell us a little bit about the new faces we haven’t seen in the seniors yet? I’m especially interested in Ryan Harwood and Callum Bartlett. Thanks.
Bikram from Werribee (VIC)

Callum Bartlett did his knee a few weeks ago and will be our for the rest of the year. It was a huge blow because he was really close to getting a senior game with the Club.

Callum will be a really good player for us in the future. He’s quick and has a great left foot kick.

Ryan Harwood got injured earlier in the season but has since started to play some pretty good footy with the Lions Reserves. He’s a good size for a 19 year-old and goes really hard at the footy.

I reckon Ryan probably isn’t too far off getting a chance to play in the senior team.

Hey Ash, what did you think of Spain winning the FIFA World Cup? Did anyone wake up early to watch it?
Louy from Perth (WA)

I was actually going for the Netherlands, but I didn’t get up early to watch it. We had training that morning so it was a big ask for us guys to get up at 4am.

I think both Fev and Browny were pretty pleased that Spain got up.

What's Josh Drummond like in person?
Jacob from Hobart (TAS)

Drummo is a great bloke. He’s really down-to-earth and would do anything for the other guys around the Club.

Hey Ash. I play footy down the Gold Coast and I play the same position as you down at back pocket. What would be some useful tips for that position?
Trent from Highland Park (QLD)

My best tip for you would be to make sure that you defend first.

As a backman, you have to focus on defending first and then hopefully your attacking game will follow.

Hi Ash. Can you please tell Browny to update his Dream Team page? I've been looking every week and it never seems to change. Thanks.
James from Indooroopilly (QLD)

No worries James, I’ll let him know.

Although I’d imagine he’s got a fair bit on at the moment and his Dream Team page probably hasn’t been a huge priority.

Hey Ash. What do you guys usually drink to recover after matches?
Taylor from Epping (VIC)

After games it’s really important that you get well hydrated. That means drinking plenty of water and Powerade.

Sometimes we also drink recovery shakes which help your body.
