Daniel Wells has moved into equal-second place in the AFL Coaches Association Player of the Year Award after polling the maximum amount of votes against Essendon.

Round 13 saw the 26 year-old catch the eye of the coaches for the fourth week in a row and for the second time in as many weeks, best-on-ground honours came his way.

Wells was again influential in an opening quarter blitz with four clearances and ended the match with 23 disposals and a goal in what is looming as his finest season yet.

A dominant month now sees him level with Chris Judd and Sam Mitchell on the leaderboard, with only Marc Murphy ahead in the votes.

Captain Brent Harvey shows no signs of slowing down at the age of 33. Harvey had 27 possessions and booted a goal to finish just behind Michael Hurley in the voting, while Drew Petrie was next best with eight marks and three goals.
