PORT Adelaide has received more good news ahead of the 2011 season, with Colin Schubert signing on as a Platinum Member.

Senior Coach Matthew Primus said it was fantastic for the club to have a passionate member like Colin on board again.

“Colin has been with the club in the past, and we’re delighted that he’s decided to throw his support behind the club again in 2011,” Primus said.

“There’s a real sense that we are building the next successful era of the club and with the addition of Schubert to a young group featuring Travis Boak, Robbie Gray, Hamish Hartlett and Jackson Trengove, we’ll be in a great position to make our mark on the competition.

“Colin is part of the backbone of the club and his support is critical to our success in 2011. We know he loves the Showdowns so we’ll be doing our best to get a win for Colin and all our fans against the Crows.”

Colin said he was excited about the new era of the Port Adelaide Football Club under Matt Primus.

“Deep down, black and white runs through my blood and has done since I was a kid,” Schubert said.

“I’m excited about the direction the club is heading - one club is a great idea and so is having Matty as coach. The Port Adelaide Times that I received was a really innovative idea and was one of the things that pushed me to sign up.”

Schubert, who loves the guts of Jacob Surjan, the brilliance of Travis Boak and the freakish skills of Daniel Motlop, said he encouraged all supporters to support the club financially by purchasing a membership.

“The club needs our support,” he said.

“When you have 25,000 people at games showing their support it really lifts the boys spirits. I’d love to see everyone get behind Matty and the boys in 2011."
