Yet another school has welcomed the Power players’ words of healthy lifestyles. On
Thursday 27th March, it was St Leonard’s PS who welcomed the likes of Steven Salopek, David Rodan and Erin Phillips on stage to talk health and fitness to a large group of eager, energetic young students waiting to hear from their favourite sport hero’s.

Special Guest Health Minister John Hill looked just as excited as a number of the students, when the school was given a big surprise from Adelaide Produce Market’s own Vegie Man! Vegie Man took over centre stage raising the excitement levels by giving high fives, flexing his muscles and also promoting a healthy lifestyle!

Prospect Primary School demonstrated to Ryan Willits and Michael Pettigrew that they were already following the guide of eating 2 fruits and 5 vegetables a day and were also drinking 8 glasses of water.

They were also very keen on their sport and a number of students were getting ready to try out for SAPASA in a number of sports and wanted extra advice on foods they could eat before their big competition.

A  group of students have started up their own cricket clinics which they run at lunchtimes getting more students involved in being active. They not only participate themselves but teach alot of technique and skills.

Prospect also has introduced a fantastic idea where the students are allowed a healthy snack in between recess and lunch which give students a real energy and concentration boost to make it through to lunch time.

The students love it and feel they focus a lot better with the healthy snack break.
