The team has had a great preparation to this Saturday night’s game against Richmond. The team seems ready to bounce back from a tough couple of weeks and look forward to hopefully getting another win at the Gabba in front of our home crowd.

I have recently opted to step down as part of the illustrious ‘scooter squad’ at the Club - which is led by big Bart McCulloch who has the biggest and baddest scooter of them all - after selling mine to Todd ‘Budget’ Banfield.

Todd was convinced after hearing they run on $4 tanks of petrol and has been harassing me ever since to buy one.

He finally cracked me using some of his best bartering skills and I ended up settling for what I call a ‘bargain’ price. Nevertheless, I wish Toddy and his brand new fiery red helmet all the best zipping in and out of the jam-packed Brisbane traffic.

Wednesday night brought a brief stink of entertainment with the Rugby League State of Origin.

The ‘Baringa Boys’ just stayed home and watched it on TV, but a few of the guys actually went along to Suncorp Stadium and sat close to all the action and really enjoyed the game and atmosphere.

With Queensland pretty much dominating from the outset, we just started cheering for the ‘spot fires’ more than anything. Although I definitely wouldn’t want to be on the end of any of those punches that were thrown.

I’ve taken a well overdue break from Call of Duty mainly to help give the younger players a chance to catch up and meet my standards. This means I’ve had some extra time on my hands lately.

I’ve been for a hit of golf at St Lucia Golf Course, which ended miserably with some wayward shots. But I enjoyed some lunch and one or two macaroons in the clubhouse afterwards.

I went and caught a movie - Animal Kingdom - which I thought was interesting, but I wasn’t a huge fan.

I have also been watching Football Superstar on FOX8, which I can relate to from my days playing Under 18 footy where it can be so cut throat.

Though more than anything, I’ve had a bit more time to take some photos for the photography course I’m currently doing.

It’s a good release from footy and something that I’ve had a passion for since it was an elective at High School.

I have been inspired by artist ‘slinkachu’ who creates a world out of little people in the streets using miniature figurines. You can check out some of slinkachu’s work at slinkachu.com.

Unfortunately I will be watching from the stands again this weekend with my thigh injury still not quite right.

Even though I won’t be out there, I’m pretty excited about the kick-2-kick family event at the end of the game.

The Club will be giving out free Lions bandanas to everyone who participates after the game. I’ve already tried every which way to wear this bandana to find a style that suits me.

Hopefully I can get out there and snag a few goals with the fans while listening to Jared Brennan’s personal playlist blaring over the speakers.

Until then, GO LIONS!
